Water garden pumps – types and importance II
In the first part of this article we briefly discussed the importance of pumps for your fountain and/or waterfall. Also we discussed the surface type of pumps.
In this article we will look at the submersible type of water pump and how you can use it to power your fountain and/or waterfall arrangement in your garden.
Unlike surface pump types, submersible pumps are those designs to operate under water, so there is no need for pipe-work from pool to pump and back, or for a pump chamber like the surface pumps.
Submersible pumps work differently from surface pumps, they simply sits in the pool sucking in water through a strainer and pushing it up through a fountain jet or through tubing to the head of the waterfall.
One of the advantages that submersibles have is that some are capable of supplying both fountain and water fall simultaneously.
Submersible pump kits will be ideal for small to medium sized pools that require no more than a fountain and or a waterfall.
It is still advisable to take advantage of the services offered by your local specialist water garden suppliers. Give them all the details of what you want to achieve. They will advise you about the best pump and necessary bits and pieces.
